Fraud Case On Acai Food Supplement Results In a Huge Fine

In December of 2008, a lawsuit was filed against Central Coast Nutraceuticals, Inc. because of misleading Acai Berry advertising. The company supposedly offers free trial of Acai products to its clients. However, those who have signed up for the free product got additional fees from the products or services they do not want. In addition, they also received monthly subscriptions that continuously bill them every delivery.

The case resulted to the company paying an amount of 1,375,000 dollars as a settlement for the consumer fraud lawsuit filed against it. 350,000 dollars of this fine will go to consumer restitution. If you are one of the victims of CCN, just file a complaint against the company and you will be eligible for the restitution.

For those who want to try Acai products, be wary in choosing the provider. Because Acai was proven effective in maintaining good health, a lot of people are using it. However, many people with malicious intent may also take advantage of this fact. Thus, be vigilant in choosing the provider to buy it from and do not always believe something “free” because there may be hidden deals in it.
