Are Low Music Prices Still Too High?: NO NO by Ares

Over the past two decades, CD prices haven’t dropped all that dramatically. You can still expect to pay about $15 for a fairly new CD by an artist from a major label. I think most people would agree that by this time, a fairer CD price point would be about $10. Lowering CD prices to a more reasonable level may help discourage much of the illegal activity happening on filesharing networks. CD prices may be lower now than they were in the ’90s, but may still be too high in the face of the more popular and portable mp3 format. CD album prices should be $10 every day, not just during a first-week-of-release sale.
